As a child I loved art and all things creative. As I entered my early teen years I realized how much I loved to paint. For me painting and creating have always been source of joy and way to feel better. Given the natural fit of art and emotional wellbeing, I later went on to get my master of art therapy and marriage and family therapy (2007), as well as a doctorate of art therapy (2015). During this time I focused more on the art making process and there intersection of art and the expression of emotions. Working as an art therapist for the last 15 years taught me much about the power of art to create healing and hold up the mirror to ourselves and our relationships. Now in 2023 I am starting a new chapter of life in Vermont. As part of this change I have found a need lean into art making and the joy I get from painting. My most current work has been inspired by the Vermont landscapes as well as a food and farming. I am particularly interested how to capture the juicy aliveness of food and the various stages between the farm-scape to table-scape.
